Incorporating Liposculpting into Body-Feminization Surgery
Body-feminization surgeries are increasingly considered an integral part of male-to-female gender-confirmation surgery. Larger breasts, a slimmer waist, a fuller posterior, and wide hips can signify femininity in a body. Many surgeries can be performed together to achieve this effect, including butt augmentation, MTF breast augmentation, and liposculpting.
Many trans women suffer from body-image issues and a lack of self-esteem. Body-feminization surgery can help combat these issues and fight body dysphoria. Body-feminization surgery helps trans women get more feminine bodies than they would normally get with estrogen intake and lifestyle changes alone.
How Liposculpting Can Help Feminize Your Body
Men tend to have apple-shaped bodies with the most amount of fat concentrated in their midriff. Women, on the other hand, are more pear-shaped. Their body fat is concentrated around their thighs, hips, and buttocks.
Liposculpting is a cosmetic procedure used for fat removal. It can be used for body-feminization purposes to create well-defined curves. Fat can be removed from a person’s body and added to their hips and buttocks for a more curvaceous appearance.
Trunk liposuction may be used to lower the waist-to-hip ratio, providing the surgical candidate with a tapered waist and bountiful hips that characterize an hourglass figure.
If a person doesn’t possess ample body fat for this purpose, they can go for hip, breast, or butt implants. Men usually have a lesser body fat percentage than women.
The Steps of the Liposculpting Procedure
Liposculpture is generally performed on an outpatient basis. You may be administered local or general anesthesia before the procedure in order to prevent any pain or discomfort during the procedure.
A cannula is then strategically inserted via incisions made in the target areas. The cannula’s sharp end loosens the stubborn fat cells, and then medical suction is applied to the area to suction out the fat cells.
The procedure takes around one to two hours to be completed. Surgery time may increase depending on the size of areas being treated.
Are You a Good Candidate?
All trans women do not make good candidates for body-feminization surgery. Healthy transgender women who maintain an ideal body weight, possess good muscle tone, and do not have a lot of excess sagging skin make ideal candidates for this surgical procedure.
Additionally, they must have body fat that hasn’t responded to other fat-reduction strategies. Liposculpting should not be a substitute for a healthy diet and regular exercise.
After the Procedure
A compression garment must be worn for four weeks by patients who have undergone the liposculpting procedure. This garment helps the skin better conform to the new contours of the body and controls post-surgical swelling.
The individual may experience minimal discomfort, swelling, and bruising after liposculpting. The pain should subside a few days after the surgery and can be controlled with the help of painkillers prescribed by Dr. Schnitt.
